Course overview
The lookout/Site warden course is designed to set up additional people in the coss’s safety system of work to undertake specific duties under the instruction of the Coss.
This course is essential for personnel who are to conduct Lookout and Site warden duties so they know what there what their responsibility are to the group and the Coss themselves.
Candidate requirement
- That the candidate currently holds a valid Sentinel Safety Card.
- The candidate must hold a level 0ne medical.
- That the candidate’s suitability has been verified by their line manager.
- That the candidate is in possession of a current competency logbook for PTS.
The course is designed to cater for a maximum of eight candidates only.
Delivery
The course will be presented by approved trainers in the classroom using the accompanying visual aids, Power point presentations and simulated classroom assessment sessions.
Other appropriate visual aids can be shown and discussed, sufficient time being allowed to answer delegate’s questions and points of discussion.
Competence
The training will be followed by theory and practical assessments.
Course aims
To understand the role of the Lookout/Site warden and under what circumstances they may be appointed.
Carry out the duties of Lookout/Site Warden to the standard of competence laid down
in the theory and practical assessments
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course and any additional modules the National Competency Control Agency (NCCA) will be informed of a decision of competence and the candidate will be issued with a new Sentinel card. A logbook will be issued by the training provider.
